Central California Folklore Archives

Welcome!

Begun in 1995, the Archives already contain more than 30,000 folklore items, each described in a way which allows access to folklore genres, contexts, informants and collectors. Our standard form was borrowed (with their kind permission) from Utah State University in Logan, and received some minor editorial changes which are my sole responsibility.

Collecting is on-going, and if you would like to submit something, just contact Dr. David G. Engle. To see a Sample Collection, click here (4.7 MB .pdf), or you can download our Collector's Guide. If you are interested in more information on collecting and collections, consult our short Guide to Collecting Guides. We hope to computerize the archives, so come back and view the progress!

In the meantime you can use these forms as blanks to fill out:

Microsoft Word docs:
ColForm1-Cover.doc
ColForm2-ReleaseForms.doc
ColForm3-MastList-Items.doc
Or the same as pdf's:
ColForm1-Cover.pdf
ColForm2-ReleaseForms.pdf
ColForm3-MastList-Items.pdf
And you can download a pdf of the form we use to vet (check out) your collections prior to turning them in:
ColForm4-VettingList.pdf
